YOUR USE OF THE APP IS ALSO GOVERNED BY OUR TERMS OF SERVICE, INCLUDING ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use i am HERO (the “App”). The App may appear on your device as iamHERO. We want you to understand what we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.

1. What i am HERO is

i am HERO helps you organize training, nutrition, your diary, and goals. Depending on what you use, that can include logging workouts and exercises, planning training, tracking food and recipes, scanning barcodes where the feature is available, recording body measurements and progress, keeping a day-by-day diary (including notes and photos), and viewing community or discovery content. Some features work with data on your device or in Apple Health only when you allow it.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in these main categories:

• Account and profile: email address, display name, username or handle, bio, profile photo URL or image, privacy settings (for example public vs. private profile), and identifiers from sign-in methods such as Sign in with Apple or Google when you choose them.
• Training and activity data you enter: workouts, exercises, sets, reps, duration, plans, goals, and related details you save in i am HERO.
• Nutrition data you enter: foods, meals, recipes, macros, calories, barcode lookups, and similar logs.
• Diary and wellness content: daily diary entries, notes, reflections, supplements, and other items you attach to your timeline.
• Photos and media: images you add (for example workout or diary photos). The App may request camera access for barcode scanning and photo-library access when you save or share images, as described in system permission prompts.
• Body metrics: measurements, weight, and progress data you choose to store.
• Apple Health and similar (optional): if you connect Apple Health or comparable services, we receive only the categories you authorize on your device (for example activity or workouts). You can change or revoke access in the Health app or system settings.
• Technical and usage data: app version, device type, operating system, diagnostics, crash data, and product analytics that help us keep i am HERO reliable and understand how features are used in aggregate.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• Create and maintain your account and sync your data across devices.
• Deliver the core experience—Home, Goals, Training, Nutrition, Diary, and related screens.
• Show your logs, charts, and history; run optional integrations you turn on.
• Keep the App secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Improve performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
• Send service-related messages (for example support or important notices about i am HERO).
• Meet legal and regulatory requirements.

4. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar)

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on appropriate bases such as: performing our contract with you; legitimate interests (for example securing accounts, understanding aggregated usage, and improving the product); consent when required (such as certain marketing or sensitive processing where applicable); and legal obligation.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Infrastructure and service providers who host data, run authentication, provide analytics, send notifications, or support the App under strict confidentiality and security terms.
• Sign-in providers (such as Apple or Google) to the extent needed to authenticate you.
• Authorities when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public.
• Business transfers if i am HERO or its assets are involved in a merger, acquisition, or financing, subject to safeguards.

If you use social, community, or sharing features, information may be visible to others according to your settings and those features.

6. Health and sensitive data

Training, nutrition, and body data can be sensitive. We treat it with care and process it for the purposes described here and as permitted by law. Health-related data from Apple Health is only accessed with your permission through iOS.

7. Retention

We keep information while your account is active and as needed to provide i am HERO, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. If you delete your account where the App allows, we delete or anonymize your personal data on our systems within a reasonable time, except where we must retain limited information for legal or security reasons. Backups may persist for a short period before rotation.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No online service can guarantee perfect security; please use a strong password and protect your device.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use approved transfer mechanisms (such as standard contractual clauses).

10. Children

i am HERO is not aimed at children under the age at which consent for online services is required where you live without parental permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from those children in conflict with applicable rules.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can exercise many choices inside the App; you may also contact us using the details below. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If the CCPA/CPRA applies, you may have rights to know what we collect, to delete personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing. The categories above describe what we collect. Contact us to exercise those rights where applicable.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the new version in the App and update the “Last updated” date, and give extra notice when the law requires.

14. No warranty; limitation of liability (use of information)

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, this Privacy Policy is provided for transparency only. We do not warrant that our practices will meet every interpretation of every law in every country, or that unauthorized access will never occur despite our safeguards.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your reliance on this Policy, your disclosure of information through the App, or matters described in this Policy—except where liability cannot be limited or waived under applicable data protection or consumer protection law (for example mandatory rights under the GDPR or similar statutes remain unaffected where they apply).

Your use of i am HERO and any dispute about privacy or data is also subject to the disclaimer, assumption-of-risk, and limitation-of-liability sections in our Terms of Service. Nothing in this Policy is intended to expand our liability beyond what those Terms and applicable law allow.
